Electric Fan Oscillation Mechanism Endurance Tester with Angle Monitoring and Fault Detection

LSKFT Technical Team 2026-08-09 Industry news

The oscillation mechanism of an electric fan contains a motor, gears, linkage, clutch and rotating joints. Long-term movement can produce wear, increased backlash, reduced swing angle and jamming. An automated endurance tester runs multiple samples continuously while monitoring angle and cycle count.

1. Test Items

  • Continuous left-right oscillation endurance;
  • Oscillation start/stop cycling;
  • Swing angle and cycle duration;
  • Failure to reach end positions and mechanism jamming;
  • Optional current, power, noise and temperature monitoring.

2. Multi-Station Design

Two, four or more stations can be configured. Each sample has independent power and protection. Adjustable platforms support table fans, pedestal fans and circulators while maintaining the normal operating posture and sufficient swing clearance.

3. Angle Monitoring

Non-contact angle sensors, encoders or optical sensors can measure left and right limits. Software compares the measured swing range with a baseline and can stop the test when the angle falls outside the allowed range. Changes in cycle duration can also indicate increased gear friction or motor deterioration.

4. Procedure

  1. Record initial swing angle, period and operating condition;
  2. Secure the sample without restricting the swing mechanism;
  3. Set the angle sensor zero position;
  4. Program total cycles and inspection stages;
  5. Set failure thresholds;
  6. Run a short verification cycle;
  7. Start endurance testing;
  8. Repeat function and mechanical inspection after completion.

5. Fault Analysis and Safety

Reduced swing angle, one-sided travel, increasing cycle time or current spikes can indicate gear wear or jamming. Long-duration unattended operation should include overcurrent, overtemperature, emergency stop and independent station protection.

6. Maintenance

Fixtures, sensors, power outlets and cycle counters should be checked periodically. LSKFT can configure multi-station endurance, angle monitoring, electrical measurement and automatic alarm functions according to sample size and oscillation range.
